With five species of upland game birds to shoot, your hunt will cover a wide variety of game bird habitat. Walk the timbered ridges and brushy draws of the canyon sides where elusive ruffed and blue grouse await the adventurous wingshooter. Find yourself in the upland pastures, where a good mix of pheasant, Hungarian partridge, and quail challenge your shooting abilities. Your guide may have you pursuing chukar on the open slopes and rocky hillsides of the Ranch, or scouring the valley floor for abundant pheasant, and large coveys of Huns.

The Flying B Ranch is proud to offer only the best dogs for your hunt, and currently kennels a variety of pointers with nationally recognized lineage. Their German shorthaired pointer line boasts seven-time National Champion and Hall of Fame inductee, Ehrlicher Abe. The Elhew-bred English pointers — several of which are direct descendants of National Champion Elhew Snakefoot — are truly some of the country’s finest shooting dogs.

A healthy habitat is critical to providing quality game birds and challenging shooting opportunities. Any farming activity at the Flying B Ranch is performed solely to provide abundant food and cover for game birds — facilitating growth and reproduction. Through proper habitat management, and the extreme natural boundaries of Lawyer Canyon, the Flying B offers truly unique mixed-bird shooting in one location.
