Bolivia offers true multi-species fishing for dorado, peacock bass, pacu, yatorana and many other fish.Bolivian Adventures offers all the possible combinations of angling adventures in Bolivia. Choose between lake or river fishing, light tackle or fly-fishing, or just relax and enjoy what the surroundings offer you.
It is only a short air charter flight from Las Palomas Hunting Lodge to its sister lodge, Boama Camp. Here, the mighty golden dorado or river tiger of South America offers the thrilling, tackle-busting fishing experience of a lifetime. The camp is located in the Isiboro-Secure National Park, which is governed by the country of Bolivia. The land is owned by the Chimane Indian community and leased exclusively for sportfishing by Bolivian Adventures and the Bolivian Amazonic Fishing Association. At Boama the fishing is not only exciting, but quite varied. Ten to fifteen hookups a day is the norm on big dorado from five to twenty- five pounds—but there are also other excellent gamefish including brawny pacu up to thirty pounds, brilliant yatoranas, muturos and surubi (giant catfish). The camp is clean and comfortable, with nice guestrooms with baths, large dining room and adjacent seating area. The sub-tropical climate makes nights cool and pleasant.
For sheer numbers, no other location in the world offers better peacock bass fishing than Bolivia’s Santa Ana region. The peacocks here are generally smaller than in Brazil or Venezuela, but the numbers are amazing — our anglers commonly catch 30-50 fish each day from two to twelve pounds! And of course, that’s TOPWATER.
Anglers have two options for accommodations: Los Lagos Hotel or Bolivian Adventure’s new "floating lodge".
Los Lagos Hotel features air-conditioned rooms with baths, a full bar and lounge and a nice pool. It is a two-hour drive to the fishing area from the hotel, so guests staying there fly out each morning and back each afternoon in Bolivian Adventure’s Cessna 206. It is only a seven-minute flight each way.
An option for immediate fishing access is Bolivian Adventure’s new "floating lodge" on the Itenez River near the Bolivia-Brazil border, providing unprecedented opportunities to go after large numbers of big peacocks, along with many other species native to the Amazon basin.
